INDUCTION OF ACU EDUCATION GRADUATES INTO SACOBA.
Emeritus Professor G. Ayo Kolawole presented a paper he was requested to write on the matter. SACOBA to engage ACU on the way forward.
FUND RAISING
The Committee on Fund mobilisation headed by Basorun Adekunle Oguntomole presented a detailed report. Two projects were presented; ICT Library and Model Nursery/Primary School. SACOBA to engage ACU on the best option. A total of half a million naira in pledges was raised at the meeting. SACOBA members at large, Class sets, Branches and friends were asked to please donate towards the project.
SACOBA BRANCHES
It was noted that some of the Branches were not active; Ife, Akure, Ondo and Ijebu. Efforts are on to revive them. A SACOBA branch will be inaugurated in Oke-Ogun soon.
PUBLICATIONS
The meeting received some old publications of SACOBA namely Magazines, Academic books and Journals. They were gotten from Late Dr. Solomon Oladiti and Late Dr. Ebenezer Olukoju, both former National Secretaries of SACOBA. In view of of the high quality of the publications, the meeting decided that prices should be attached to the materials for members who may want to buy. Copies should be kept at the National Secretariat and copies given to ACU library. The meeting directed Mr. Olukunle Gbade Ojo (Editor-in-Chief “THE SACOBA”) to redouble his efforts and get a publication out as soon as possible.
NATIONAL SECRETARIAT MANAGEMENT
Plans are on to get the place active. A photocopying business and other business options on partnership (Build Operate and Transfer BOT) is being considered. The Committee to engage ACU Authorities, also minor repairs was approved by the meeting.
FINANCE
Members were asked to pay their annual dues of 1,000 naira through their branches, Class sets or direct to the SACOBA Account: Union Bank DUGBE-IBADAN – 0004730618. The meeting directed that receipts for payments should be printed and issued to everyone who makes payment to SACOBA.
ADDITIONAL PATRONS
Plans are on to have additional Patrons for SACOBA to meet the Constitutional requirements of FOUR.
CELEBRATION
The meeting expressed great joy and celebrated our Patron Pa Venerable G.O Adesina JP. who clocked 99 years on 18th January, 2022.
The meeting also rejoiced with the Immediate past National President of SACOBA, Professor Emeritus Ayo Bamgbose who will be 90 on Thursday 27th January, 2022. SACOBA members are invited to the celebration at the Chapel of the Resurrection, University of Ibadan at 11am.
Chief Oluwole Awolola, the branch Secretary for Osogbo, who was at the meeting was celebrated with songs and best wishes for clocking 70 years .
